Discovering Life, Learning and Leadership

Have you noticed the new solar-powered, compacting trash containers showing up in parks, at beaches, in public places and perhaps around your neighbourhood?  These slick bins are BigBelly Solar products which are manufactured by Creation Technologies in Lexington, Kentucky.

Check out this video clip that Troy Watros, Creation Technologies General Manager, and I recorded during my recent visit to Lexington:

I am proud to say that Creation Technologies has helped BigBelly, and the environment, by building units that are being installed  across the USA and in 30 other countries around the world, lowering unnecessary fuel usage and vehicle emissions, reducing litter, and improving recycling.

As you saw in the above video, Troy shared the excitement and pride our Business Unit has in building the units.  He also shared with me their recent donation of a BigBelly solar-powered trash compactor to the City of Lexington to aid in their theme of “Create Jobs / Run Government Efficiently / Build a Great American City”.

Congratulations to our Creation Technologies Lexington Team for all their great work on the BigBelly product and for their ongoing work in making their community a better place to live.

And, how about those Kentucky Wildcats!  In the video we also celebrated with all the University of Kentucky Wildcat fans out there.  It was great to see the Wildcats win their 8th NCAA Championship.  Our Lexington business unit team is still feeling the excitement and some of the ‘cat scratch fever’ even infected me.  I will wear my blue shirt with pride.

Speaking of blue shirts, Go Canucks Go!

Have you seen a BigBelly unit in your area?  What sports team do you cheer for?
